“Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path.” (Psalm 119:105, NIV)
Mount Olive Baptist Church exists to glorify God through worship, service, and community-building rooted in Biblical truth.
For more than 200 years, this congregation has gathered to share the Gospel, care for our neighbors, and raise up disciples in Stafford County. That mission has not changed.
Our Vision
To be a beacon of Christ’s love in Stafford, Virginia, meeting people where they are, tending to their physical, emotional, and spiritual needs, and building relationships that lead to life in Christ.
We envision a community where no one is hungry, thirsty, lonely, or forgotten, and where every act of service reflects the heart of Matthew 25:35-36.
Our Mission
The MOBC Evangelism and Outreach Ministry exists to share the Gospel through compassionate action in Stafford, VA, and beyond. We meet people at their point of need, welcoming the stranger, providing clothing to the vulnerable, offering companionship to the sick, and ministering to those in prison.
In every act of service, we extend more than help; we extend hope inviting each person into life-changing relationship in Jesus.
What We Stand On
The values below reflect the foundation of who we are and how we seek to live out our faith each day. Rooted in Scripture and guided by Christ’s example, these principles shape how we serve, lead, and care for one another as a church community.

Our Core Beliefs
We believe the life, death, burial, resurrection, and teachings of Jesus are the path to salvation, revealing God’s love and grace to all. Our faith is rooted in God’s Word and centered on Christ, guiding our worship, shaping our ministry, and uniting us as a family of faith with true purpose found in Him alone.
The Church
We believe the Church was established by Jesus and that He is returning to receive His Church out of this world to be with Him for eternity.
The Bible
We believe that the Bible is the inspired, infallible Word of God that holy men of old recorded as they were moved by the Holy Ghost.
The Great Commission
We believe in the great commission and endeavor to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ with love, mercy and compassion.
The Deity of Jesus
We believe that there is only one God (Deuteronomy 6:4). He is the Creator of heaven and earth, and of all living beings. He has revealed Himself to humanity as the Father (Creator), as the Son (Savior), and as the Holy Ghost (indwelling Spirit). His revealed name in the earth is JESUS.
Water Baptism
We believe in water baptism by immersion in the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ for the remission of sin. Through baptism we identify with the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
Romans 6:3-6; Colossians 2:11-14; Acts 2:38
Baptism of the Holy Spirit
We believe in the Baptism of the Holy Spirit with the initial sign of speaking in other tongues.
Acts 2:4
Gifts of the Holy Spirit
We believe in the manifestation of the gifts of the Holy Spirit. He ministers to His people through tongues, interpretation of tongues, prophecy, words of knowledge and wisdom, discerning of spirits, faith, working of miracles, healing, helps, and government.
Mark 16:15-18; Acts 5:16; 2 Corinthians 12:1-11
